Artificial intelligence in news is evolving beyond metadata tags. It can now help news organizations find and monetize content, generate silent videos and highlights reels and even predict trending news, and ABC News and the CBC are among the broadcasters experimenting with its capabilities.
Media asset management systems, some of which interact with the cloud and use artificial intelligence to personalize content, are growing in acceptance among TV broadcasters as they add scaled-down functionality, standardization and microservices.

The new WCAU-WWSI facility, set for a grand opening sometime this fall, is IP-centric and is designed to not only give the two stations a more efficient space with a common technology infrastructure, but to give their personnel new flexibility in creating content for today’s multiplatform world.
