Beginning Sept. 27, the Nexstar cable network will feature 55 hours of live news, analysis and talk each week. Abrams will host Dan Abrams Live and Adrienne Bankert will anchor its new live national weekday newscast Morning in America.
A day after A&E canceled police reality series Live PD, host Dan Abrams called the decision an “overreaction” on his SiriusXM show. He also defended the popular TV show’s decision to destroy video of a black man’s death during a 2019 police stop in Texas. Details of the death of the man, Javier Ambler II, were first reported Monday by the Austin American-Statesman and KVUE Austin.
Byron Pitts is replacing Dan Abrams as Nightline anchor; Abrams will remain ABC News chief legal analyst.
As the network’s chief legal affairs anchor, “Dan will continue his regular legal segments on Good Morning America, show us a whole new side of his talents with a new branded GMA segment on a wide range of topics, and join the other Nightline anchors on ABC’s The Lookout,” ABC News President Ben Sherwood said today.
