Didja’s LocalBTV Adds Dynamic Ad Insertion

Legal broadcast streaming service provider Didja has announced the addition of programmatically decisioned dynamic ad insertion (DAI) to its LocalBTV platform. Los Altos, Calif.-based Didja provides a free streaming app supported by Roku, Android TV, Apple TV, as well as Samsung and Vizio smart TVs, designed to enable consumers to stream local broadcast stations … with the blessing of the broadcasters.

LocalBTV Hopes To Launch In 100 Markets By End Of 2022

LocalBTV, a streaming service for local broadcast channels, has added another two markets and hopes to reach 100 by the end of this year. The service’s two newest markets are Cincinnati and Toledo, bringing its current total to 21. Jim Long, CEO of LocalBTV parent company Didja, said that both new markets are starting with fewer than 10 channels but that figure should double soon. LocalBTV plans to reveal its next 20 markets soon and Long added that a still-unannounced partnership will be key to that expansion.

Startup Streaming Broadcast Signals In SF

Didja allows its downloaders to stream live (or store for later viewing) some three dozen minor broadcast signals, mostly ethnic channels and diginets. It’s a first step. Plans calls for offering most broadcast signals, including Big Four affiliates, to more than 60% of U.S TV homes. CEO Jim Long says he knows he will have to pay for the affiliates to come aboard and has already begun those discussions.
