Animated family comedy Duncanville is coming to an end. Fox has canceled the series, which comes from Amy Poehler, The Simpsons veteran Mike Scully and former Simpsons writer-producer Julie Scully, after three seasons. The series is averaging a 0.2 in live+7 numbers with 641,000 viewers and around 1.1 million multiplatform viewers per episode.
Just ahead of its Season 2 premiere next month, Fox renewed animated sitcom Duncanville for Season 3. “Watching Amy [Poehler] bring her incredible talent to Duncanville both on and off the screen these past two seasons has been an amazing experience,” said Fox Entertainment President Michael Thorn.
The network will open a second animation block on Monday nights in the summer. Newcomer Housebroken, featuring the voices of Lisa Kudrow, Nat Faxon, Will Forte and Sharon Horgan, will pair with second-year show Duncanville, starring Amy Poehler, beginning May 31. Duncanville will premiere with two episodes on Sunday, May 23, before moving to its regular berth.
The Simpsons, the Harts, the Belchers and the Griffins will see you in September. New episodes of The Simpsons (Season 32), Bless the Harts (Season 2), Bob’s Burgers (Season 11) and Family Guy (Season 19) premiere Sunday, Sept. 27 on Fox,. Additionally the second season of Duncanville will premiere in 2021.
Fox is booking a return trip to Duncanville. The animated comedy, co-created by and starring Amy Poehler, has been picked up for Season 2, TVLine has learned. Duncanville marks the second freshman comedy to be renewed at the broadcast network, following fellow animated rookie Bless the Harts, which secured a Season 2 order back in October.
