E! has laid off a “small number” of staffers on the digital side, according to an individual with knowledge. The move is due to a larger restructuring effort of the cable channel to create a centralized Terrace Studios that will share production efforts across E! News brands and NBCU’s syndicated Access programs.
NBCUniversal will lay off more than three dozen staffers who worked on E!’s entertainment shows Daily Pop and Nightly Pop, which were canceled last month. The move is due to a larger restructuring effort of the cable channel to create a centralized Terrace Studios that will share production efforts across E! News brands and NBCU’s syndicated Access programs.
E! reality television stars Todd and Julie Chrisley were initially indicted in August 2019 and a new indictment was filed in February of this year. Prosecutors allege that the couple submitted fake documents to banks when applying for loans. The trial is getting underway just days after E! announced that it is moving forward with a new dating series, Love Limo, hosted by Todd Chrisley and weeks after the announcement that reality shows Chrisley Knows Best and Growing Up Chrisley have been renewed on USA Network and E!, respectively.
The show went on, but did anyone show up? Despite accusations that Ryan Seacrest subjected his ex-stylist to “years of unwanted sexual aggression,” and amid talk that many celebs planned to pass the host by, E! took a business-as-usual approach with its Live From the Red Carpet coverage. And while some talent did chat with Seacrest, it was a far less starry lineup than E! has become accustomed to.
Jeff Olde, who has served as EVP of programming and development since March 2013, is exiting the NBCUniversal-owned cable network to pursue what he called his “next adventure.” A replacement has not yet been determined.
