Frank Volpicella

Frank Volpicella has agreed to part ways with Meredith’s CBS affiliate in Atlanta after less than a year there. He joined the station July 11 of 2016. His departure makes the sixth time in nine years that a CBS 46 news director has left the building.

After 20 months in the job, Larry Perret has been replaced as news director at the Meredith owned CBS affiliate, the perpetual fourth-place performer in the market. His successor is Frank Volpicella, who has been a news director at ABC affiliate KVUE Austin, Texas.

Frank Volpicella, who has led KVUE’s news team for almost 16 years, will leave the Austin, Texas, ABC affiliate later this month, opting to take an early retirement package offered by owner Tegna.
