CW Renews Three, Cancels Two
The CW has renewed Gossip Girl and Nikita as well as freshman drama Hart of Dixie and ended the run of buzzy freshman dramas Ringer and The Secret Circle.
The CW is looking to beat the midseason rerun blues by extending the already-full season orders of Gossip Girl, 90210, Supernatural and Nikita.
Wal-Mart-owned online video service Vudu said Tuesday it has added the first seasons of Glee and Modern Family to its content library, as well as prior seasons of Weeds other series as it looks to beef up its TV lineup.
The CW has announced early pickups for five of its series. The Vampire Diaries, Gossip Girl, Supernatural and 90210 will return for the 2011-12 season. America’s Next Top Model has been picked up for two more cycles, including its first all-star edition featuring models from previous cycles.
