The veteran Fox Television Stations exec will step down at the end of the month after 28 years with the company.

The Bay Area station sale is expected to close this week. In an email obtained by TVSpy, Abernethy told staffers WFXT Boston GM Gregg Kelley will be named VP-GM of KTVU-KICU while Dana Hahn from Fox’s WTTG Washington will be named VP-news director.
