Broadcast-Broadband System A Path To 4K

HEVC Hybrid Broadcast Broadband Video Services, or H2B2VS, is a project of 22 firms in Europe that proponents say combines the best of broadcasting with the strengths of the Internet. In a presentation at IBC, the author, Thomson Video Networks’ Raoul Monnier (l) explained how the system could make delivery of 4K television practical in an age when spectrum is scarce and high resolution video consumption holds the potential to outstrip Internet bandwidth resources.
