Intel executives want to launch a Web-based pay TV service by year’s ned, but are now looking for a strategic backer to help them fund and distribute the service. If they don’t find one soon, it could be the end for the project.
Erik Huggers, general manager of Intel Media, confirmed today that the company will introduce a new Internet-based TV service this year. Intel will be providing the hardware and services directly to consumers, and the box will come with a camera that can detect who is in front of the TV.
