Sinclair Broadcast Group announced that it closed on the acquisition of the non-license assets of NBC affiliate KRNV Reno, Nev. (DMA 107), from Intermountain West for $26 million, giving it a triopoly in the market. It already owns the Fox affiliate and operates the MNT outlet.

Jim Rogers Betting Big On News On KSNV
The owner of the Intermountain West group thinks he has a duty to the viewers in his home town of Las Vegas to provide high-quality local news, and a lot of it. He’s replacing syndicated programming with news on his NBC affiliate as the shows’ contracts expire and by 2016 should have filled just about all the slots with it before primetime starts.
The televison station group will use Inergize’s Web CMS and News Synergy mobile app at its stations, including KSNV Las Vegas; KENV Elko, Nev.; KRNV Reno; and KPVI Idaho Falls-Pocatello, Idaho.
