WDSU’s Longtime GM To Lead Los Angeles Stations

After spending nearly 15 years in the Crescent City, Vilmenay is leaving. He’s jumping from New Orleans, the No. 50 television market, to Los Angeles, the No. 2 television market, to be president and general manager of the CBS duopoly of KCBS and independent KCAL.

WDSU GM: Stations Want Fairness From Hill

In a letter to the editor of NOLA.com, WDSU General Manager Joel Vilmenay says: “I joined hundreds of local broadcasters from around the country in Washington, D.C., recently to visit Louisiana’s congressional delegation and advocate for a modern regulatory landscape that will ensure that local TV stations remain on the air for years to come. I’ve returned home encouraged that lawmakers are considering our concerns and recommendations.”
