WADL, Paper Partner On Weekday Newscast
A new local newscast promising a combination of hyper-local stories with television’s immediacy is how WADL Detroit and Journal Register describe their joint venture, News @ 9, which will debut Monday, Jan. 16.
Journal Register Co. and MediaNews Group have joined forces as Digital First Media, the companies announced today. JRC CEO John Paton lead the new entity, as well as serve on MediaNews Group’s CEO and on its board of directors.
Newspaper company and online innovator Journal Register Co. was sold to hedge fund Alden Global Capital. Details of the transaction were not disclosed.
