California Live will air at 11:30 a.m. Monday through Friday across KNBC Los Angeles, KNTV San Francisco and KNSD San Diego. The show will have some modular segments that will be customized for each market, with an emphasis on restaurants, nightlife, lifestyle topics, pop culture and entertainment.

KNBC Los Angeles follows in New York’s WNBC’s footsteps by moving Access Hollywood Live from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., where it won’t air “live” at all. The latest move could be indicative of a possible NBCUniversal’s plan to share production resources across E! News and AHL since the latter show could potentially require less staffers to produce if it’s no longer airing live in any markets.

Ex-KNBC Producer Files Second Lawsuit

Pink-slipped from his producing job at KNBC Los Angeles about two years ago after almost a decade at the station, Frank Snepp has decided to double up on his battle against his former employer. The 71-year-old Emmy and Peabody winner on Wednesday filed a wrongful-termination complaint against NBCUniversal and the LA O&O seeking a jury trial and “compensatory, general and punitive damages.”
