Station Trading Roundup: 1 Deal, $21M
The sale of a full-power and LPTV by OTA Broadcasting to Entravision Communications tops the latest list of TV station transactions submitted to the FCC for its approval, according to BIA/Kelsey.
It’s paying OTA Broadcasting $21 million for NBC affiliate KMIR and MNT affil KPSE-LD. Spectrum speculator OTA bought the two from Journal in 2014 for $17 million.
Gene Steinberg Tapped AS KMIR-KPSE GM
The former GM of KMIZ Columbia, Mo., will oversee OTA Broadcasting’s NBC-MNT duopoly in Palm Springs, Calif.
KPSE-LP Pulled From Time Warner Cable
Negotiations failed between Journal Broadcast Group and Time Warner Cable, which means the cable provider will no longer be allowed to carry the Palm Springs, Calif., MNT affiliate. A June 30 deadline was extended to 11:59 p.m. Wednesday. But that deadline ran out with no new deal, a Time Warner spokesman said late Wednesday.
