Bonten’s 29-year veteran David Caldwell will oversee KTXS and KTES-LP Abilene and KTXE San Angelo following the death of Bud Brown. 

The head of Bonten Media’s ABC affiliate in Abilene, Texas, was also VP-GM of Bonten’s ABC affiliate KTXE-LP San Angelo, Texas. Previously, he was VP-GM of WWL New Orleans during Hurricane Katrina.

The new stations bring the classic TV network to 155 markets, boosts its coverage to over 90% of the U.S.

Bud Brown, the former GM of WWL New Orleans, will run the group’s two ABC and one CW affiliates KTXS, KTES and KTXE.

The Bonten ABC affiliates in Abilene and San Angelo, Texas, launched the upgraded broadcasts yesterday. Panasonic, Bitcentral and Grass Valley are among the equipment suppliers.
