After 20 months in the job, Larry Perret has been replaced as news director at the Meredith owned CBS affiliate, the perpetual fourth-place performer in the market. His successor is Frank Volpicella, who has been a news director at ABC affiliate KVUE Austin, Texas.

Trey Fabacher is out at Meredith’s Atlanta CBS affiliate. On the bright side, the station did announce a new news director, Larry Perret, who came from Kansas City. He takes over for Lane Michaelsen, who left in July and now works with Sinclair in Maryland.

That sort of thing doesn’t often happen one week into a four-week ratings sweep, but the new owners — Nexstar Broadcasting — and new VP-GM Richard Doutre Jones are gearing up for a major revamp of the station.
Veteran broadcaster Larry Perret will join the Newport-owned Salt Lake City ABC-CW duopoly on May 16.
