When James Corden cuts ties with CBS’s Late Late Show next year, he may leave with more than people expected. CBS is considering replacing Corden’s distinct program with a multi-host panel, according to three people familiar with the matter, a sign of how latenight is changing as viewers sample the best of the programs via social media rather than watching them in their wee-hours’ time slot. Corden has decided to leave The Late Late Show in the spring of 2023.
James Corden is getting quite the opening act — 15 of ‘em, to be exact — before he takes over as host of The Late Late Show on Monday, March 9, 2015. CBS on Wednesday announced a roster of guest hosts that will fill the gap between Craig Ferguson’s exit — slated for Dec. 19 — and Corden’s debut.
As part of the pact that would run through 2014, the Late Late Show host is poised to move his CBS series to a larger stage at TV City.
