Amazon Studios is shaking up the leadership of its TV programming operations under Head of Television Vernon Sanders. Marc Resteghini is stepping down as US/global head of development, sources say. He is negotiating a producing deal with Amazon Studios. Nick Pepper, head of studio creative content, and Laura Lancaster, head of series, are expected to divvy up Resteghini’s responsibilities and co-run development and production of TV content, reporting to Sanders. MGM TV’s operations remain separate and do not factor into the current executive changes.
Amazon Studios has restructured its television development team under studio chief Jennifer Salke. Amazon is reforming its TV development to focus on three areas: development, series and IP/talent management.
Laura Lancaster, NBC’s executive vice president of drama programming, is out after six years. The network has been struggling to break out of fourth place in the ratings in recent years and a breakout drama has failed to materialize.
