Telemundo, NBCU Off Liberty In P.R.

NBCUniversal’s Telemundo station and cable networks have been blacked out to Liberty Cablevision’s Puerto Rico subscribers in a carriage fee dispute. The agreement was set to expire at the end of 2019, but the pact included an opt-out clause, effective March 31. A deal appeared to be close, but fell through, NBCU said.

Liberty Media Starts Cable Assets Spin Off

The mass media started the process through a stock dividend to its shareholders to form a new listed company called Liberty Broadband. Liberty Broadband, in a regulatory filing, said the stock dividend would be worth up to $4.8 billion and Malone would retain a voting interest of 47.3%.
