Interra Systems, a global provider of software products and solutions to the digital media industry, has introduced Baton LipSync, an automated tool for lip sync detection and verification. Baton LipSync uses machine learning technology and deep neural networks to automatically detect audio and video sync errors. The company says that by using Baton LipSync, broadcasters […]
AV fingerprinting technology uses algorithms to compare two signals — one with no lip sync errors and one anywhere in the program distribution chain. If there’s a difference between the signals, software alerts operators or the system can automatically correct the error. Vendors are offering systems now, but some others, and some buyers, are waiting until an SMPTE committee develops a standard. There’s also a push to get the Consumer Electronics Association to adapt and extend the standard for use all the way to the TV set.
