Police Say KSAT Video Puts Them In Danger
Some are praising Graham Media’s KSAT San Antonio for uploading amateur video of a police-involved shooting. The police are saying that the station is putting cops lives in danger.
As of Monday, KWHY’s 5 and 10 pm local newscasts have been canceled. With very few exceptions, the the Meruelo Group-owned station’s entire news, marketing and sales staff were laid off in the process. About 50 to 60 people today lost their jobs – about 40 were from the news department.
Telemundo’s KNSO will begin airing its first-ever local newscast Noticiero Telemundo Valle Central today. The one-hour Spanish-language program will air weekdays from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. and deliver local news to viewers in Central California, including the Fresno, Madera, Tulare and Visalia markets. The program is being produced locally in partnership with Nexstar Broadcasting Group’s CBS affiliate KGPE and NBC affil KSEE in Fresno as well as Telemundo in Bakersfield.
WPXI Reporter Shot With Paintball Gun
Adam Ward, the 27-year-old cameraman for WDBJ Roanoke, Va., who was murdered last week was remembered today at a commemoration at Salem High School. Salem High School Principal Scott Habeeb said Ward “loved life and he was truly kind to people.” Habeeb was the offensive line coach when Ward played middle school football, was one of his teachers as a high school freshman and was an assistant principal for Ward’s final three years of high school.
