Station Trading Roundup: 1 Deal, $9.5 Million
The sale of KTXD Greenville, Texas, (Dallas) by London Broadcasting to Cunningham Broadcasting tops the latest list of TV station transactions submitted to the FCC for its approval, according to BIA/Kelsey.
Sinclair’s sidecar partner is paying London Broadcasting $9.5 million for independent KTXD, according to an FCC filing. The deal would give Sinclair a duopoly in Dallas, assuming that its purchase of Tribune also passes FCC muster. Tribune owns CW affil KDAF there.
The $215 million deal for the Texas stations breaks down to two ABC and Fox affils and one each from CBS and NBC, with an additional NBC affil on a subchannel. After closing, London COO Phil Hurley will continue to run the stations.
KTXD To Syndicate Its ‘The Broadcast’
The Dallas ME-TV affiliate has been producing, with D Magazine, D: The Broadcast. Now, the magazine is out and London Broadcasting, owner of KTXD and stations covering seven of Texas’ 19 TV markets, will begin syndicating a renamed The Broadcast on Sept. 23.
