Hosted by Eric Alvarez, the condensed format is akin to the popular NFL RedZone concept, whipping from story to story while providing viewers with context and background – all in a succinct city-focused format. NBC Bay Area News, NBC Boston News, NBC San Diego News are now accessible through the Roku Channel. LX News, a TV and streaming network from NBCU Local for millennials and Gen Z-ers, makes its Roku Channel debut.

From the creators of the U.K. documentaries Fixing Dad and The Fixing Challenge, Fixing Us debuts for U.S. audiences on Sept. 10.

Today’s launch includes the debut of LX News, a weekday newscast targeted to Gen Z and millennials.

The conventional school of thought teaches that the best way to engage younger viewers is to produce short, snappy, “snackable” content, but the people at LX News must have skipped class that day. The ongoing experiment in programming for millennials and Gen Z from the NBCUniversal Owned Stations took a big leap forward last month with the launch of its first live news programs.

The new show will air live Monday to Friday at 8-10 a.m. and 8-10 p.m. ET via over-the-air TV, cable and OTT/streaming, offering “context” to its targeted audience of millennials and Gen Z-ers.
