Michael Davies Named ‘Jeopardy’ Permanent Executive Producer

Embassy Row’s Michael Davies has been executive producing Jeopardy on an interim basis since the departure of Mike Richards last year. He has now taken on the job full-time. Davies revealed the news in a blog post on the Jeopardy website.

Richards had signed an overall development deal with Sony in 2019, and became executive producer of Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune in May 2020. He quickly became controversial when he went from behind-the-scenes to Sony’s pick for host of Jeopardy — even before his 2013-14 podcast comments demeaning women and making stereotypical comments about Asian, Jews and others surfaced.

‘Men In Blazers’ Jump From ESPN To NBC

The popular soccer commentating duo known as the Men in Blazers is leaving ESPN for NBC Sports, becoming the latest in a series of recent bets on soccer’s rising popularity in the U.S. Starting shortly after the 2014-15 Premier League season begins later this month, the Men in Blazers, as television producer Michael Davies and writer Roger Bennett are known, will have a weekly Monday night show on NBC Sports and will contribute radio, TV and written pieces for the network’s various outlets. The terms of their contract weren’t disclosed, and the show doesn’t yet have a name.
