Groups Denounce Wheeler Nom Over Decency

Led by Morality in Media, 70 organizations sent a letter to U.S. Senators urging them to oppose the nomination of Tom Wheeler to be FCC chairman if he will not agree to enforce the commission’s rules against indecency.

PTC, MIM Press Congress Over Indecency

Angry about a proposal to relax the FCC’s rules regulating indecent content on broadcast television and radio, the Parents Television Council and Morality in Media are pressing Congress to stop the regulatory agency in its tracks.

GOP Wants More TV Obscenity Prosecutions

As the Republican National Convention kicked off Tuesday, Morality in Media is crowing over convincing the GOP to adopt platform language calling for a crackdown on pornography. Although the official text of the platform hasn’t been released, Morality in Media says that the previous platform only targeted child pornography but will now read, “Current laws on all forms of pornography and obscenity need to be vigorously enforced.”
