WPMT Morning News Expands To Five Hours

Beginning Sept. 12, the Gray Television Kentucky CBS affiliate will launch a new half-hour newscast at 10 a.m. It’s the first such mid-morning newscast in the market, which has seen 4 and 7 p.m. options added for viewers in the past year by NBC affiliate WLEX.
The Boston NBC affiliate is expanding its Today in New England by an hour beginning Aug. 22.
Beginning Aug. 22, Sunbeam’s Fox affiliate is adding an hour at 9 a.m. to its Today in Florida newscast.
WBFF Baltimore will add an hour to its morning news show each weekday starting next month. The Fox affiliate will air local news from 5 to 10 a.m. starting Jan. 24. The Sinclair-owned station currently airs local news from 5 to 9 a.m.
The Hearst CBS affiliate in Des Moines, Iowa, is adding two hours on Saturday and Sunday starting at 5 o’clock. It also adds long-time KCCI Anchor Steve Karlin to its weekday morning team.
