His promotion from GM of Morris’ WCBI Columbus, Miss., is effective Oct. 1, following the retirement of Dean Hinson as the group’s president. Berry will be succeeded at WCBI by WMGT GM Derek Rogers, whose slot will be filled Todd Buccelli, WDEF Chattanooga’s creative services director.
The cellular ENG products are expanding the newsgathering capabilities at WCBI, WWAY, WDEF, WTVQ and WMGT.
The group owner is adding StationView Essentials to its stations in Macon, Ga.; Lexington, Ky.; Columbus, Miss.; Wilmington, N.C.; and Chattanooga, Tenn.
Morris Network, which owns and operates six network affiliates, and DirecTV have renewed their retransmission consent agreement. The stations are: WMGT Macon, Ga.; WTVQ Lexington, Ky.; WCBI Columbus, Miss.; WXXV Gulfport, Miss.; WWAY Wilmington, N.C.; and WDEF Chattanooga, Tenn.
