The Morning Joe host appealed on the air Monday for Williams to be judged, after the current “fury” and social-media “madness” die down, on the totality of his career rather than on one to three “bad mistakes.”
In a year-end message sent to employees Monday, Phil Griffin, president of the NBC-owned cable news channel, wrote: “Technology is continuing to drive unprecedented changes across the media landscape — and we all should be taking a hard, honest look at how we need to evolve along with it.”
