CBS’s position as the network with the most viewers is amplified in a new poll that has four of its shows topping the list of America’s favorites. Based on the Harris poll of nearly 2,300 adults, The Big Bang Theory, NCIS, Criminal Minds and CSI lead the rundown.

Cote De Pablo Leaving CBS’s ‘NCIS’

On Wednesday, CBS confirmed that Cote de Pablo is not coming back for the 11th season of the network’s hit drama NCIS this fall, although she will appear long enough for her character Ziva David to finish out her storyline. CBS and producer CBS TV Studios said in a joint statement that the decision was de Pablo’s to end her eight-year  run on the show.

‘NCIS’ Renewed As Harmon Extends Contract

A ratings bockbuster for CBS, NCIS — which airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. — has been television’s top scripted drama since the 2009-2010 season. In its current 10th season, the program has been averaging a 4.2 rating/12 share in the 18-49 demographic most important to advertisers, and 21.5 million total viewers, a 7% increase over last year.

Strong Season Finales For CBS Dramas

It’s amazing what not having to face American Idol can do for a show’s ratings. The season finale of CBS’s NCIS grew 15% last night compared to last year, when it faced Idol, which has since moved from Tuesday to Wednesday. NCIS averaged a 3.8 adults 18-49 rating at 8 p.m., and also beat the other hit show in the timeslot, Fox’s Glee, which averaged a 3.5. CBS’s other dramas also saw their season finales grow compared to last year.

CBS Wins A Rerun-Laden Tuesday

Though CBS had its regular lineup in place, it wasn’t the network’s strongest night. The 9 p.m. drama NCIS: Los Angeles tied a series low with a 3.2 rating, and NCIS, the night’s highest-rated show with a 3.8 at 8 p.m., was flat to its last original episode despite facing a rerun of Glee, Fox’s top scripted show.

CBS Takes The Third Tuesday Of Sweeps

CBS’s NCIS finished ahead of Fox’s Glee in the 8 p.m. timeslot for the first time this month last night, and that helped CBS to its first Tuesday night win of this February sweeps. NCIS posted a 4.4 rating among viewers 18-49 last night, up 19% from a 3.7 last week and pushing just ahead of Glee‘s 4.3. For the night CBS averaged a 3.4 overnight rating and 9 share, up 13% from a 3.0/8 last week.

NCIS is proving quite the juggernaut this year. The eighth-year CBS drama rose to a series high for the second time in three weeks last night, drawing a record 22.7 million total viewers in the 8 p.m. timeslot. That bettered its previous record, set Jan. 11, by 800,000 viewers. Last night’s episode also hit a season high among adults 18-49, averaging a 4.6, up 0.1 from its former best.
