The Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games app will aggregate NBCUniversal’s new and previously developed Olympic content offerings into one place, making Olympic events available in participating Verizon Fios TV homes and National Cable Television Cooperative member homes. The app, which was built by NBCUniversal’s content distribution team, will feature more than 1,000 curated Olympic Games videos on-demand, improved discovery and navigation features, personalization by sport, up-to-date medal standings by sport and dynamic tune-in to NBCUniversal networks in select homes.
Fox reached a new carriage agreement with the National Cable Television Cooperative, averting a New Year’s blackout. The NCTC represents more than 700 small and rural cable operators covering about 3 million subscribers.
There are only a few days left before folks will begin ringing in the New Year, but Fox Corp and NCTC are spending the final week of 2019 negotiating carriage agreements for the Fox O&Os and a number of cable networks, including Fox News, before their current deal’s Dec. 31 expiration date.

But now one of those services, Sony’s PlayStation Vue, is going back through the middle: It agreed to to offer its channel packages directly to about 9 million mostly rural cable subscribers.
