Seacrest has signed a multi-year extension of his deal to continue as host and executive producer of the annual ABC special, which is produced by MRC Live & Alternative. The extension will take Seacrest past the 20-year mark as host; this year’s broadcast, which is also the 50th anniversary of the first New Year’s Rockin’ Eve, will be his 17th.
ABC announced Monday that Swift is the headliner for New Year’s Rockin’ Eve, the annual countdown show hosted by Ryan Seacrest. The show plans some 38 musical performances over five and a half hours on the air. No other musical acts have been announced yet.
ABC said today that Fergie and Jenny McCarthy will be hosts of a two-hour tribute to Clark that will air at 8 p.m. ET on New Year’s Eve prior to the annual Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve countdown show that will be hosted by Ryan Seacrest.
