In a video posted to her Oprah Daily Instagram account, Winfrey, who owns 2,000 acres on Maui, promised to make a “major donation, after all of the smoke and ashes have settled here, and we figure out what the rebuilding is going to look like.”
Until now, Winfrey had said she would leave the election to Pennsylvanians, but she changed that position in an online discussion on voting in next Tuesday’s election. “I said it was up to the citizens of Pennsylvania and of course, but I will tell you all this, if I lived in Pennsylvania, I would have already cast my vote for John Fetterman for many reasons,” Winfrey said, before going on to urge listeners to vote for Democrats running for governor and Senate in various states.
Winfrey appeared in a recorded chat with Abrams on a campaign website Thursday, saying she believes the candidate has a “calling to want people to be able to do better, to live better and to thrive in their lives.”

Oprah Winfrey has been tapped to kick off Project Angel Food’s third annual telethon — Lead with Love 3 presented by City National Bank — airing live on KTLA Los Angeles on July 23. Hosted by Eric McCormack and TV personality Jessica Holmes, the telethon will also feature appearances by a long list of boldfaced names.
The three participants’ ties to Netflix and Apple, along with Winfrey’s desire to reach a big live-viewing audience, paved the way to an old-school deal with CBS.

The network was seeking about $325,000 for 30 seconds of commercial time in the highly anticipated interview, ad buyers said. The two-hour interview is scheduled for Sunday on CBS at 8 p.m. ET, after the network’s popular news magazine 60 Minutes.
The special, titled Oprah With Meghan and Harry, will feature Winfrey talking with the couple about everything from their marriage to their decision to step away from Britain’s royal family. It’s set to air March 7.
The conglomerate, led by David Zaslav, now holds 95% of OWN, with Winfrey opting to receive a $35 million-plus stake.
