Heading into Tuesday primetime, Fox’s live coverage of the UCLA-NC State Holiday Bowl was set to be the primetime winner. Instead CBS and its repeat showings of the FBI franchise took that title. While repeats don’t typically get a lot of love especially when live sports are on, it’s worth noting that holiday showdown between the UCLA Bruins and NC State’s Wolfpack fell through after the former pulled out of the San Diego game because of COVID-related issues.

Sunday Night Football on NBC earned a 3.4 rating in the 18-49 demo and approximately 13 million viewers, per fast affiliates. The top-rated and most-watched program of the evening saw the Cowboys dominate their opponents 56-14. The game was slightly down from the previous week (3.6/14.13M) in both counts. CBS earned the highest demo rating and viewership among non-sports programming with 60 Minutes (1.2/8.31M).

NBC’s coverage of Sunday Night Football was an obvious winner for primetime, the same way the New Orleans Saints were the clear conquerers of the latest NFL game. Earning a 3.6 rating in the 18-49 demo and 14.13 million viewers in fast affiliates, SNF was the highest-rated and most-watched program of the evening. SNF, which saw the Saints dominate the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 9-0. Following SNF, other sports-related content lead the pack. Fox’s The OT (2.6/10.26M) came in second, followed by Football Night In America (2.4/9.86M).

‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Rebounds With Fall Finale

ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy entered the holiday break with 4.1 million total viewers and a 0.6 demo rating Thursday night, rebounding a bit from last week’s series lows. Over on Fox, Thursday Night Football (11.6M/2.7) was up sharply from last week’s early numbers.
