Sinclair Buys Six Pappas Stations In Neb.
The broadcast group pays $31.25 million to add to its portfolio the Nebraska stations KFXL Lincoln, KHGI Kearney, KHGI-LD O’Neill, KWNB-LD Hayes Center, KWNB-LD McCook and KHGI-CD North Platte.
Bids for the stations, all in Nebraska, are due by 5 p.m. on Oct. 19, with the auction set for Oct. 27
Nexstar Buying KCWI For $3.5 Million
Nexstar is adding the CW affiliate in Des Moines-Ames, Iowa, to its growing portfolio, buying it from Pappas Telecasting.
Clock Ticking On Charter-Pappas NE Retrans
Pappas Telecasting: “Retransmission consent negotiations with Charter Cable have not been successful. As a result, NTV [KWNB (ABC)] and our sister station KFXL (Fox) may be removed from Charter’s lineup as of midnight on Dec. 31. We are hopeful that a mutually satisfactory agreement will quickly be reached.”
Rentrak Signs Pappas Telecasting’s Five TVs
The group owners’ stations in three markets are now using Rentrak’s census-based local TV measurement currency.
