One-Time NBC President Pier Mapes Dies

Mapes worked twice for NBC. For five years beginning in 1963, he held sales services and affiliate relations positions. He then went to Blair Television for seven years. He returned to NBC in 1978 as VP of network planning and was named president in 1982. He held that post until his retirement in 1994.
