Texas, Nevada, California and New York plus Washington D.C. account for two-thirds of every dollar contributed to super PACs from Jan. 1, 2011 to June 30, 2012. These states and D.C. represent only one-quarter of the U.S. population.
Joe Scarborough, a co-host of MSNBC’s Morning Joe, was briefly suspended Friday after Politico uncovered donations he had made to political candidates. Scarborough’s donations to friends and family members totaled $4,000. His suspension will keep him off Morning Joe for two days.
