TV Everywhere, OTT Top Affils NAB Agendas
When affiliate boards sit down with network executives at the NAB Show next week, they’ll be trying to figure out how they can make money from streaming their signals to smartphones and tablets either through TV Everywhere or OTT. In addition, all Fox affiliates at the convention will get a chance to celebrate the new signs of life in the network’s primetime schedule.
Digital, Retrans Growth Engines For Quincy
Ralph Oakley, who took over as CEO of Quincy Newspapers Inc. and who represents the fifth generation in the family business, would like to move more deeply into broadcasting — if the FCC allows it. Why? Because he still sees upside in retrans, digital and possibly in ATSC 3.0. “It will allow us to remain competitive and we have got to have the best technology to be that.”
