Randy Jackson, who has been with American Idol from the start, first as a judge and then as a mentor, has notified the producers of the veteran Fox reality singing competition that he won’t be returning for the upcoming 14th season.
Sources say the American Idol judge and reality TV producer has been pitching a talk show concept to potential buyers. Despite his Grammy-winning music background, the show, which Jackson would front, would not be limited to musical guests.
