NAB Calls Mediacom’s Retrans Petition ‘Silly’

In comments submitted to the FCC Friday, the National Association of Broadcasters registered its opposition to the petition Mediacom filed with the commission last month, calling it “silly.” The NAB argues that Mediacom’s suggestion that the FCC should tie broadcast license renewals to a promise by a TV station not to use blackouts during retransmission negotiations would violate the law.
