Rosie O’Donnell’s sudden depature as co-host due to health reasons puts the future of the struggling ABC talker in doubt. The shows future had looked good when O’Donnell returned five months ago, seven years after her original run ended, bringing ratings for the season premiere to an 8-year high.
Rosie O’Donnell is leaving The View after just five months to focus on her family. “I can confirm that Rosie and her wife Michelle split in November,” O’Donnell’s representative said Friday in a statement. “Rosie has teens and an infant at home that need her attention. This has been a very stressful situation. She is putting her personal health and family first. ABC has been wonderfully understanding and supportive of her personal decision to leave The View. Next week will be her last.”
Following hours of overnight reports that actress Rosie Perez is leaving the ABC daytime talk The View after just four months as co-host, fellow new co-host Rosie O’Donnell said on today’s The View that Rosie P. will return to the show next month.
