Her last day on the ABC News program will coincide with the last original show of the season on Aug. 6. Expect her to talk about her exit on Wednesday’s broadcast. No word yet on the future of co-host Nicolle Wallace. Raven Symone, who only joined the show in June, and Whoopi Goldberg are locks to come back next season, but Wallace’s future is unclear.
ABC executives are finalizing a plan to reboot The View next fall, for the second consecutive year, with a flurry of changes that could include the departure of at least one of its regular hosts. While moderator Whoopi Goldberg will remain as the face of the struggling daytime talker, the future of two of her co-hosts, Nicolle Wallace and Rosie Perez, is in doubt.
ABC has put the brakes on a plan to fire Rosie Perez from The View, after Variety broke the news of the decision on Jan. 14. At the time, the network wasn’t ready to announce the co-host’s departure. According to a source familiar with ABC execs’ thinking, fear of “an Ann Curry situation” — a reference to NBC’s botched firing of the Today anchor in 2012 — led executives to reverse course and keep Perez on the network’s 11 a.m. talk show for now.
The View co-host Rosie Perez will return to the ABC show on Feb. 3 — putting to rest reports the actress was fired. Perez was scheduled to take a break from the show in January while she was in rehearsals for Larry David’s upcoming Fish in the Dark on Broadway. But her View return date had been unclear, stirring rumors she would not be rejoining Rosie O’Donnell, Whoopi Goldberg and Nicolle Wallace.
Following hours of overnight reports that actress Rosie Perez is leaving the ABC daytime talk The View after just four months as co-host, fellow new co-host Rosie O’Donnell said on today’s The View that Rosie P. will return to the show next month.
After only four months on The View, Rosie Perez is leaving the ABC morning show, Variety says. Perez had taken off the month of January to appear in the Broadway play Fish in the Dark, but it’s understood that she won’t be coming back once she’s done. A rep for The View denied that Perez would be leaving the show: “Her status with the show has not changed.”
Actress Rosie Perez and political commentator Nicolle Wallace will fill the vacant seats on The View when the ABC daytime talk show returns for a new season on Sept. 15. They will join Rosie O’Donnell and Whoopi Goldberg as replacements for Sherri Shepherd and Jenny McCarthy, who left the program last month.

Perez says in the lawsuit filed Wednesday that she was “recklessly pulled, grabbed, yanked, wrenched and/or manhandled” during filming […]
