NEW YORK (AP) — President Donald Trump and Alec Baldwin — his chief impersonator — traded online barbs Friday, each describing the other as causing “agony,” the latest salvos in an ongoing feud between the commander in chief and the actor. Trump, who has long grumbled about the way he is portrayed by Baldwin on […]
Saturday Night Live, hosted by James Franco in his fourth time on the show and featuring musical guest SZA, drew a 4.5 household live+same day rating in the metered markets and a 2.1 in adults 18-49 in the markets with local people meters. That was up from the 4.3 in HH and 1.7 in 18-49 for the previous week’s telecast hosted by Saoirse Ronan. The 4.5 in households was the best SNL delivery since Nov. 4.

Criticized for earlier overlooking the scandal, Saturday Night Live addressed it this weekend, with varying degrees of comfort and effectiveness.
The series retained roughly 85% of the 2016-17 opener for its second-best premiere since 2010. Airing live in all U.S. time zones, as it did for four episodes last season and will continue to do all of this season, the show averaged just over 7 million viewers and a 1.9 rating among adults 18-49.

Saturday Night Live continues its dream ratings run with Donald Trump in office. Saturday Night Live aired a midseason finale on Saturday that concluded months of high ratings and critical praise. SNL’s ability to skewer Donald Trump, book hotly anticipated hosts and attract weeks of hate-tweets from the president-elect himself have all boosted the show’s relevance. The sketch show successfully took advantage of a bizarre political climate that has brought its own record-shattering television ratings and, at times, has felt more like a reality show than the conclusion of a campaign season.
Alec Baldwin returned to Saturday Night Live this weekend in his first post-election appearance, portraying President-elect Donald Trump as he grapples with his transition from candidate into head of state. The episode drew instant criticism from real-life Trump on Twitter who ended his tweet with: “Equal time for us?” Baldwin responded on Twitter, writing, “Equal time? Election is over. There is no more equal time.”
