Simon Cowell’s Syco Entertainment has struck a deal worth $125 million for the securitization of the Got Talent franchise. The agreement, billed by adviser ACF as “the first of its kind” and “groundbreaking,” securitizes the intellectual property behind Got Talent, including the U.S., U.K. and international versions of the format, which is in 72 territories worldwide. In effect, production margins and fees, digital income, franchise and original content sales and sponsorship income have been pooled as securities.
After all the performances, the laughs, the tears, the rooting and the disappointments, Simon Cowell’s America’s Got Talent’s two-hour season finale gave America its winner.
The network has ordered AGT: Extreme from Simon Cowell and his Syco Entertainment company and Fremantle. The series will showcase the most outrageous and jaw-dropping daredevil acts. Each week extreme contestants will go head-to-head in the most wild, wacky and craziest stunts to vie for the ultimate title. Cowell will serve as one of the judges.
America’s Got Talent judges Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum, Howie Mandel and Sofia Vergara will all be back for season 16 of the hit NBC talent competition series, the network confirmed Tuesday. Terry Crews also will return as host.

Kelly Clarkson‘s days as Simon Cowell’s America’s Got Talent seat filler are over. NBC announced Monday that Saturday Night Live vet Kenan Thompson will step in for the injured Cowell in this week’s live episodes (airing Tuesday and Wednesday). Thompson succeeds Clarkson, who occupied Cowell’s seat last week.
