He is Steve Doerr, most recently a news consultant with Crawford Johnson & Northcott. But he has had a slew of local TV management jobs in markets including Philadelphia, Washington, Dallas, Providence and Columbus, Ohio. WGCL is a Meredith CBS affiliate.

The former GM of WLNE Providence, R.I. is now in charge of Smith’s WFFF-WVNY Burlington, Vt., and WKTV Utica, N.Y.
VP-General Manager Steve Doerr will leave the Providence, R.I., ABC affiliate at the end of this month. Doerr told the staff that after discussions with the new owner, Citadel Broadcasting, he would be stepping down.
