The former Univision, NBCUniversal and Telemundo executive joins the Spanish-language media company to accelerate transformation.
More changes afoot today in Univision Communications’ ad sales operation following last week’s appointment of Steve Mandala as president of advertising sales and marketing.
Univision has chosen a former executive at chief competitor Telemundo for a similar post. Steve Mandala, who oversaw sales at Telemundo for close to nine years, joins Univision as an executive vice president leading the client development group, along with sports and direct response sales.
Steve Mandala is no longer with NBCUniversal as of April 6. The high-ranking exec oversaw sales teams for NBCU’s 14-network cable portfolio, including USA, Syfy and Bravo. An NBCUniversal spokeswoman confirmed Mandala’s exit; another source close to the network also said that he won’t be replaced in the role.
