U.S. stocks dropped in afternoon trading Thursday on further evidence that global growth is slowing. The Dow Jones industrial average lost 63 points, or 0.4%, to 16,216. The Nasdaq composite fell 14 points, or 0.3%, to 4,738.

Stocks Slump After Fed’s Rate Decision
Stocks dropped Friday afternoon in response to the Federal Reserve’s decision not to raise interest rates, a move investors interpreted as a sign that the global economy is weak. The Down Jones industrial average dropped 279 points, or 1.7%.
