ABC News President James Goldston’s announcement today made formal what has been the practice over the past few months on This Week With George Stephanopoulos. Stephanopoulos has cut back on his weekend schedule since he co-hosts Good Morning America during the week. Chief White House correspondent Jonathan Karl will be the substitute host on weeks that the other two aren’t available.
The former CBS correspondent will host a half-hour Sunday news program on the group’s network affiliates that will be a blend of investigative and political journalism, with a focus on accountability.

WKRC Adding Sunday Morning Newscasts
Viewers in Cincinnati will have the choice of three local newscasts at 8 a.m. Sunday starting July 7, when CBS affiliate WKRC expands into Sunday mornings. Liz Bonis will anchor Local 12 News Sunday at 8-9 a.m., and return at 11-11:30 a.m.
