David McGuire Leaves Telepictures After 30 Years

David McGuire, EVP of programming and development for Warner Bros.’ first-run and unscripted arm, Telepictures, is departing following the exit of Warner Bros. Unscripted Television President Mike Darnell. Both executives are leaving the Warner Bros. Television Group after a restructuring. McGuire worked at Telepictures for more than 30 years, having started his tenure there as a production assistant on syndicated talk show Jenny Jones.

‘Ellen DeGeneres Show’ Workplace Under Investigation By WarnerMedia

The Ellen DeGeneres Show has become the subject of an internal investigation by WarnerMedia following numerous accounts of workplace problems on the long-running daytime series, Variety has learned. Executives from show producer Telepictures and distributor Warner Bros. Television sent a memo to staffers last week saying they have engaged WBTV-owner WarnerMedia’s employee relations group and a third party firm, who will interview current and former staffers about their experiences on set, said sources.

Telepictures To Test RuPaul Daytime Talk Show

Domestic Television Distribution has renewed Telepictures Productions’ entertainment news magazine TMZ through the 2013-14 season on Fox Television Stations, and on stations covering more than 75% of the country. The extension includes all of the owned-and-operated Fox affiliates, including WNYW New York, KTTV Los Angeles and WFLD Chicago, bringing TMZ to a seventh season.
