Dallas Paper Deal With KXAS Is Audience Play

James Moroney, publisher of The Dallas Morning News, says the pact inked last week between the A.H. Belo-owned paper and NBC O&O KXAS is about audience building and and creating joint reporting projects. Moroney adds that revenue sharing opportunities may come later.

KXAS, Dallas Morning News In Partnership

The Dallas Morning News and NBC O&O KXAS Dallas (DMA 5) have formed a media partnership that will include the newspaper, dallasnews.com, nbcdfw.com and local newscasts on KXAS to start. Additional platforms and projects are anticipated in the future, according to KXAS. In addition to general news, the two media organizations will join together on content like weather, politics and breaking news. Readers and viewers will begin to see the first efforts of the partnership after Jan. 1, 2014
